Hey Folks – JJ Greig Photography here…now for the long bio!
I’m based in Perthshire and photograph weddings right across Scotland, from big, lively days to smaller, more stripped-back celebrations.
My approach is simple. I’m there to capture what’s actually happening, not to stage it. Most of the day, you’ll barely notice me, just quietly working away and picking up on moments as they unfold. The nerves before the ceremony, the way people look at each other during the speeches, and the proper shape cutting moves on the dance floor – all the bits you miss because you’re busy being in it. That’s the stuff that matters.
That said, I’m not hands-off to the point of being useless. If you need a bit of direction, I’ll give it. If the light’s doing something special, I’ll make the most of it. And if things go sideways, which they often do, I’m usually the calm one in the corner getting on with solving problems and linking up with the right people on the day – its not your job to get stressed on your wedding day!
I’ve shot in all sorts of conditions, from horizontal rain on Loch Coruisk, gale-force winds at Crear in argyll, to stunning sunshine in Kirkcudbright and melting heat in Gleneagles hotel gardens, we cant take it all on. Whether it’s a castle, a barn, or somewhere completely off the map, this amazing job stays the same. Document the day properly and give you something real to look back on.
