Their story…
Emma and Lauren started out five and a half years ago in a bar in Glasgow and have been pretty much inseparable ever since. Lauren has the most incredible sense of humour and a wicked smile to match, Emma’s just as bad!

They’ve travelled extensively, survived a pandemic, bought their first home and have fallen in love with each other more and more as they grow and find new things about each other. They already felt married in every sense of the word but were just missing that signature on the dotted line- is the line even dotted?

What was most important to you about your wedding?
To put it simply, to be able to do it with the people we loved most present. We always said that the most excited thing about our big day would be saying “my wife” at the end of it and that really was the best bit. To be surrounded by all the people you love while you get married is such an honour. So many people had told us before the wedding that it goes away in a flash so we made the conscious decision before the wedding to make the time we do have, quality time.

Did you plan everything yourselves?
We had a wedding coordinator at the wedding venue and a decorator but everything else we did ourselves. We had quite a clear idea of what we wanted and also what we wanted to do ourselves. Emma designed and created our welcome sign, table plan and table names. We named our tables after places we had visited and used photographs we had taken on each trip as part of the table name. There is a certain level of stress of doing aspects on your own but it was a lot of fun to be hands on with this.

You can’t do everything yourselves though! That’s an impressive supplier list…
Our dream team of suppliers were incredible. We really could not have surrounded ourselves with better people. It meant the whole experience of planning right through to after the wedding has been so wholesome. Find people you click with as your suppliers, meet them and find out if they are your type of people. If you laugh all the way through your appointments, you’ve just met the people for you.

Your photos are maybe the happiest we’ve ever seen!
The clearest memory of the day is how much we laughed, right from the word go. We had the most incredible morning with our girls that was filled with love, laughter, croissants and champagne. That spilled into the rest of the day, minus the croissants. Now being at the other side of it and being wifeys, we are so grateful that our biggest memory of the day is how happy we were and how much we laughed.
