Lorna & Symon, Boturich Castle

A fairytale wedding at Boturich Castle, a day to remember.

Their Story…

When it comes to envisioning the perfect wedding day, few can imagine a celebration as magical as the one that unfolded for Lorna & Symon. Set against the stunning backdrop of Boturich Castle, their special day was an unforgettable blend of love, laughter, and breathtaking scenery.

A Weather Miracle at the Castle

While the picturesque venue promised a dream setting, the unpredictable weather kept Lorna and her bridesmaids on edge the night before. In a quirky twist, they turned to an age-old superstition: burying a sausage to ward off the rain. “We were worried about the weather, so we buried a sausage the night before,” Lorna shared. “And it worked! We managed to have our ceremony outdoors with the stunning landscapes behind us. The rain only started once we signed the register.”

This moment of good fortune set the tone for a day filled with joy and serendipity.

The Perfect Venue, The Perfect Team

The charm of Boturich Castle lies not only in its spectacular views but also in the exceptional team that runs it. “The staff at Boturich are honestly incredible,” the bride gushed.

“They were so laidback, helpful, and relaxed—it really made the day feel effortless. Everything else was going perfectly, and their support made it even better.”

From the tranquil moments before the ceremony to the seamless coordination throughout the day, the staff’s professionalism allowed the couple and their guests to fully immerse themselves in the celebration.

A Dance Floor to Remember

No wedding is complete without a party, and this one was unforgettable. Lorna noted a common wedding concern: an empty dance floor. But at their reception, this was far from the case. “The dance floor was full from the minute the band started until they finished,” she recalled. “The lead singer was so interactive with the crowd—it didn’t feel like a typical wedding band at all.” The lively atmosphere kept guests energised and dancing the night away.

An Event Manager’s Dream Come True

With a background in event management, Lorna brought her professional expertise to her own wedding. She created detailed briefs and mood boards to guide the day’s design and logistics. Yet even with her meticulous planning, the reality exceeded her expectations. “Everything was even better in real life,” she said, reflecting on how her vision came to life in ways she couldn’t have imagined.

Timeless Memories Captured Perfectly

For many couples, capturing the essence
of the day in photographs is a top priority. However, Lorna took a more relaxed approach—and was thrilled with the results. “I was actually worried I was too laid-back about my pictures, but they turned out so beautiful and authentic,” she said, praising Gemma Purdon – her talented photographer. From candid moments to breathtaking portraits, every image reflected the genuine joy and love that defined the day.

A Celebration of Love and Laughter

Looking back, Lorna described feeling like she was in “a total bubble” surrounded by everyone she loved. It was a day filled with heartfelt moments, laughter, and the kind of magic that only happens when all the pieces come together perfectly.

For couples dreaming of their own fairytale wedding, this celebration at Boturich Castle offers endless inspiration—a testament to the beauty of love, impeccable planning, and a little bit of luck (and maybe a buried sausage or two)
